What is a brief?
A brief is a fictitious or imaginary assignment usually for some type of business, service, or product. Each brief includes various design deliverables that are needed for the business, such as business cards or a new website.
Briefs are great ways to practice your skills without the pressure of working with an actual client, or to just have fun with new kinds of design work that you wouldn't normally work on with a client, but would like to!

Types of Deliverables
Packaging
Ever catch yourself admiring the look of your newest shampoo bottle, or the metallic accents on your makeup palette? Packaging design deliverables include design for boxes, bags, wrapping paper, bottles or anything that packages a product!
Even in today's technological age, print design is still relevant! Briefs that require print design deliverables might ask for business cards, menus, printed flyers or posters, membership slips, and more!

The importance of digital design continues to skyrocket as brands want their aesthetic on the internet to remain consistent. Digital design deliverables might include social media templates or websites.
