What does it mean to dilly-dally?

According to the definition, to dilly-dally is to dawdle or aimlessly explore something seemingly unimportant.

Isn't that how all creativity begins?

"Seemingly" is the key word in this definition; dilly-dallying can lead to the most unexpected, wonderful creations. Our community encourages you to explore your creative capacity and dawdle as far as you dare.

We can't wait to see what you create.

So, how do you dilly-dally with DillyDally?

First, follow DillyDally on Instagram, @clubdillydally.

Our community lives on Instagram, so you'll have to join us there! Creatives of all backgrounds and levels are welcome to join our community.

Then, every other Monday, a new DillyDally brief is launched.

Briefs contain information about a company, product or brand that doesn't actually exist and outline various design needs. You will have two weeks to design for each DillyDally brief!

Now, it's your turn. Time to design!

Spend the two weeks designing your heart out. You can use whatever resources you would like, such as the Adobe Suite or Canva. Obviously, copying others' work is not permitted or welcome in our community.

Don't be shy, show us what you've got! Post your work.

Be sure to post your work to your own Instagram account and tag @ClubDillyDally in your post. Additionally, use our hashtag #ClubDillyDally and the brief's individual hashtag which changes for each brief but looks something like #CDDBriefName.

Community Voting

On the day of the deadline for each brief, the top four design submissions will be shared to DillyDally's Instagram stories for community voting. Voting runs for twenty-four hours, so you have plenty of time to pick your favorite, but you can only vote once.

Finally, we celebrate the top two dilly-dallies for each brief.

Decided in community voting, the top two submissions from each brief are shared in their own post on DillyDally's feed. This is a chance to celebrate your fellow designers and be inspired!

In addition to the top two dilly-dallies for each brief, Honor'd Dillies celebrates a few design submissions for each brief beyond the top four that the community votes on. This is the DillyDally spin on honorable mentions; Honor'd Dillies are shared to our Instagram Stories.

Miss a brief deadline? No problem! At the end of each month, some submissions posted after the deadline for previous briefs will be posted as a way to celebrate designers who chose to #DallyOn. To ensure your DallyOn submission is seen, make sure to use the additional hashtag, #DallyOn, when sharing your post.

DillyPOP

Do you dilly-dally on your own, outside of our fun briefs? Since our community is all about celebration, we want to share your own work too. DillyPop is the new way we recognize projects special to you -- whether it was a passion project, just for fun, or client work that you're particularly proud of. With only two DillyPop features each month, this is a special form of celebration. Apply to be the next DillyPop today; selected DillyPops will have their designer profile and project spotlight shared to our feed.

Thank you for applying! If selected, an email will be sent to you to organize further information. In the meantime, dilly-dally away!
